About us

The Rug Garden owner Deborah Belding began her career in 1979 with the iconic custom carpet manufacturer, Edward Fields, at the showroom in New York City. Working at Fields for nine years with the best interior designers of that time taught her the fundamentals of creating the absolute finest carpets and area rugs in a myriad of styles.

Taking time out in 1988 to have her son, Kristofer, Deborah "jumped" to the retail side of the business joining the staffs of Einstein Moomjy and J&S Designer Flooring in New Jersey. Moving to the Hudson Valley in 1998, Deborah has finally realized her dream of owning her own unique and sophisticated rug and wool carpet boutique.
